Just what we needed in Wall South Dakota. Very clean. Can park so close to room makes luggage hauling easy. All the staff went out of their way to make our stay a pleasure. Since 1949 they have been doing it right!

Lady at front desk was very nice and helpful with guidance for tourists. Room/bathroom was EXTREMELY clean, (much cleaner than any 5 star hotel)!! We were very impressed and if ever we come back to visit the Badlands, we would definitely stay here FOR SURE!

As I type this we are staying here and we are traveling from Florida to hit all the national parks that we can. During our travels we have stayed at many motels and this place is by far the best value we have found. We are right outside the Badlands and have 2 dogs, and the staff is so accommodating, and the rooms are super clean. I would highly recommend this facility for anyone traveling in this area!

Excellent hotel! We drove all the way from Minneapolis to Mount Rushmore, and I can confidently say this was the best hotel we stayed at along the way. Very clean, smells fresh, nicely renovated, and the staff is incredibly friendly. You can really tell it’s a family-run hotel and that they care about their guests. The location is also perfect if you’re visiting Badlands National Park — it’s literally only about a 10-minute drive away! Highly recommend!

We got their last room. Immaculately clean, well-maintained, plenty of towels, and comfortable beds. It was great to speak to the owner! We will come here again! Thank you!

The absolute the cutest cleanest little Motel I've ever stayed in. I would give it a 10 if there were 10 Stars.

Our tent got destroyed by a storm while camping at the Badlands. Tired, wet, and a little defeated, we rolled up to Welsh’s Motel, quarter to 10pm and was welcomed with open arms. Last minute availability was no problem for our large (6 person) family plus a dog. Clean rooms with great AC, hot showers, and space to park our trailer too. In the morning, we were greeted with free coffee and ice to fill our coolers. We are clean, rested, and dried out to finish our camping adventure strong. Many thanks to the friendly and wonderful people at Welsh’s.

The reception was very welcoming. The room was perfect for what we were looking for. The cleanest hotel bathrooms I've ever seen.

This IS THEE PLACE TO STOP.. when you are traveling art. 90 in South Dakota… this evening I was met by this beautiful ray of sunshine with this radiant smile .. overflowing with kindness .. Kelly .. her and her husband Wes have a beautiful.. attention to detail.. extremely clean and just ‘PERFECT’ place to rest after a long day of driving… and your in this cool town where you see signs along the road way for miles for their famous ‘Wall Drug Store’ that is not far from the motel…. I am sooo VERY HAPPY to have stopped and chose Welch’s Motel.. I PROMISE YOU.. YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID…. By FAR thee NICEST place I’ve stayed in in my travels.. will DEFINITELY stop again the next time I’m coming through.. Deepest Gratitude Kelly.. I appreciate YOU…

Kelly (the owner) is AMAZING!!! We were traveling through a storm and just got bitten by ticks so the moral was low. Kelly offered us a beautiful room that’s stylized as cozy and cute. Kelly was friendly, professional, and hilarious. She checked the tick bites out (we’re good) and she gave us what was left of her hydrogen peroxide to clean the wounds. I can’t recommend this place enough! You won’t find a better place with this kind of service and hospitality.

I enjoy staying at "Mom & Pop" motels, and this one is a hidden gem of the Badlands. It's very clean, updated, and the owners go out of their way with all the coffee you may want. Outlets are easily accessible for your chargers. YOU CAN FILL YOUR COOLER FROM THEIR ICE MACHINE! It is reasonably priced and right off the Interstate. It's within walking distance of downtown and right at the beginning of the loop road through the Badlands.

10 stars! The moment you walk in you are greeted with the friendliest welcome, great price, great location, EXTREMELY clean inside and out.. you can tell they genuinely care for this place with a passion. Absolutely recommend this to anyone passing through or spending the day near the badlands.

Although Welsh's Motel has been around for nearly 70 years, the rooms here are very modern and clean. The bed is one of the comfiest I've slept in too! The motel offers a side lot for large vehicles and is in a prime location right off the interstate (and not too far from Wall Drug). I recommend anyone staying in Wall to go to Welsh's Motel!

We love supporting local businesses and this one is as local as you can get. Nice simple room. They are sooo friendly, super clean, convient. Price was phenomenal. Love the coffee and ice set up. Very quiet. Definitely would only stay here if we visit again from South Carolina. ☺️ Oh and PERCECT spot for the Badlands!
